I don't often say thank you, but I do appreciate you for being there.
I don't often recognize your abilities, but heck do I believe you are truly special.
I don't always act like the better person, but I always wish I could.
I don't think I deserve this, but I can't do anything about it, you just have to accept it: I will always be you eldest evil vicious big sister.
I love you little sis. Sorry for always being the nasty one.
In truth all of us are sinners, and it is only from Allah’s mercy upon us that He is "As-Sitteer" - the One who veils our faults and our flaws, and makes us seem better than we really are in others’ eyes...

HOPE: To believe, desire, or trust
Today, mankind has left me with hope.
I woke up one day to hear the shouts of fear from innocent little babies in the land where Prophets once stride. In the midst of chaos, there came stories of horror from a land that once depict true sagas of boldness and bravery.
And so, this heart wept for the fate that men has brought down upon themselves.
But today, today, mankind has left me with hope.
And spend of your substance in the cause of God, and make not your own hands contribute to (your) destruction; but do good; for God loveth those who do good.
(Al-Baqara, Chapter 2, Verse 195)

Becoming one
Jewish tradition states that Ibrahim(pbuh) once asked Allah, "O my Lord! Where does the disease come from?"
He said, "From Me."
Ibrahim(pbuh) said, "Where does the cure come from?"
He said, "From Me."
Ibrahim(pbuh) said, "What is the role of the doctor then?"
He said, " A man in whose hands I send and cause the cure."
[Translated exerpt from "At-Tib an-Nabawee" by Imam Ibn Qayyim Al-Jawziah]

Courage
Courage is not the absence of fear but rather the judgement that something else is more important than fear. The brave may not live forever but the cautious do not live at all.
From now on, you'll be traveling the road between who you think you are and who you can be. The key is to allow yourself to make the journey.

A reason to live
The difference between a depressed person and a joyous one is the ability to discover your purpose and to embrace it. It is the realization of what you are supposed to do. And because your inner self have awaken, it will change not only your life but the lives of people you touched.
Find your purpose and embrace it.
Find your purpose and embrace it.
Nothing of importance
I have been cheating my way to writing an entry for a long while now. I don't know why but it is so hard to find the spirit and idea to write these days. I guess that's why my visitor tracking device has been stagnant for some time. Hehhe. Someone give me an epiphany please!!!

Entry taken from My Sister's Blog: A new year, a new beginning!
Very amusing sis. And thanks for writing them for me. It was stuck in the gray matter, I couldn't get it out. I guess you wrote it down for me in the end. Hehhe. May the force be with you. Love ya~
On my way here
Where I am now
I've learned to fly
I have to want to leave the ground
I've fallen hard
But I've been loved
And in the end it all works out
My faith has conquered fear
On my way here.
By Afifah: End 2008
Two new years in the span of 3 days.
Cool.
In any case, let's recap this past year shall we?
Lessons learned...
I learnt that:
1) there exists kindness in the hearts of even the most doubtful.
2) faith really does conquer fear.
3) it is better to confess a wrong (immediately if possible) than to let your guilt pester, gnawing on you. <--in my case not guilt but uneasiness, disagreements.
4) when you put your mind to it you can be an immovable object facing an irresistible force. However illogical that may be. (Let's not take this too literally, eh?) ;)
5) patience is a virtue that has been proven it's effectiveness time and time again.
6) it's okay to be number two as long as you did your best. Why compare yourself to others? We're all different and uniquely our own person.
7) a small act of kindness goes a long way.
8) people are selfish beings but sometimes when you're not looking, they can surprise you in the most pleasant of ways. So don't judge. Don't Judge!!!
9) problems are there for a reason, to learn and emerge stronger.
and most importantly,
10) my mind is my own. (Ah. I think only I can understand this one.)
So, have a great new year. May it be better than before. Write down your resolutions but (please) don't aim beyond your means!
Happy New Year!
